China is openly contesting rules of international order, according to NATO leaders, who are preparing to meet in Madrid on Tuesday for their annual summit, and the group is expected to “harden its stance towards China over its position on Russia’s war in Ukraine”, a report by the South China Morning Post says.
China is expected to be singled out for the first time in NATO’s new strategic concept, which charts the 30-member bloc’s future and military outlook to be adopted at the summit, the report said. China’s “unfair and coercive” practices are also expected to be discussed at the G7 summit, which begins in Germany on Sunday, a separate report said.
